Spurs have cooled their interest in the Slovakian defender after holding talks with Inter over signing him in the ongoing transfer window.

Tottenham believed that they could land the player for around €35m, but Inter made it clear that his asking price is €60m and they could accept somewhere around €50m plus bonuses.

Italian agent Frank Trimboli is acting as the mediator between the two clubs and it has been claimed that he has asked Tottenham to fork out the money needed or forget about signing him.

And according to Italian outlet FcInterNews.it, Spurs have not completely abandoned the idea of signing the centre-back in the final week of the transfer window.

They are scrambling to put together the funds needed to sign Skriniar and for that, they are working on selling Foyth; it is claimed they could offer €45m plus bonuses if Foyth goes.

The Argentine has been linked with a move to Fulham, along with sides in Spain, and Tottenham are keen to finalise his sale soon.

The proceeds from Foyth’s departure would go straight into the offer for Skriniar and a bid is likely to be made soon.

But with the window closing next Monday, Tottenham are now racing against time to get a deal done to sign the Inter defender.
