Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is interested in signing one more striker for his squad and Manchester United have sprung into action to bring in a centre-forward in the final week of the window.

Manchester United have identified Real Madrid’s Jovic and former Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani as their targets and they are in talks with their respective representatives.

The Premier League giants want Jovic on loan, while Cavani is available on a free transfer after he left PSG at the end of last season.

And according to Spanish sports daily AS, Jovic is happy to join Manchester United and they are his preferred option if he has to leave Real Madrid on loan in the final week of the transfer.

The Premier League giants have made considerable progress in talks with his agent and signing him on loan is the easier deal to do.

Despite being available on a free transfer, signing Cavani is likely to be more complex due to his wage demands and the agent fees.

Real Madrid want to loan out Jovic to a club where he will play more football and despite his struggles in Spain, they still have confidence in the Serbian that he could have a career at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Jovic also has suitors in Italy with Inter, AC Milan and Roma interested in signing him as well.
