David Moyes wants to add more reinforcements to his West Ham squad before the transfer window slams shut on Monday night.

Bringing in a centre-back has remained a priority for the Hammers, but West Ham are also in the market for other positions with midfield still seen as an area that can be strengthened.

And it has been claimed that they have made a move to sign Club Brugge midfielder Vanaken.

According to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws, West Ham slapped in a bid with €15m with Club Brugge to take Vanaken to the London Stadium.

But the offered failed to find favour at Club Brugge and it was rejected by the Belgian club.

Club Brugge feel Vanaken is too important a player for the team and they are unlikely to find a proper replacement in time before Monday’s deadline.

The club are planning to offer him a new contract to further highlight his importance for the team.

Vanaken is keen on a move to the Premier League, but it is unclear if he wants to join West Ham.
