The Stamford Bridge club roped in 21-year-old central defender Sarr from French side Nice on a free transfer earlier in the ongoing transfer window.
While the France Under-21s international has signed a five-year contract with the club, Chelsea plan to send him out on loan this season.
Sarr is claimed to have suitors in his home country, with Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne credited with an interest.
And according to French magazine Le 10 Sport, Italian club Sampdoria are also in the race to sign the youngster on a temporary deal.
The two clubs are battling to land Sarr on a loan contract from Chelsea, as the transfer window nears an end.
Saint-Etienne boss Claude Puel sees the centre-back as an ideal replacement for Wesley Fofana, who is heading to Leicester.
Meanwhile, Sampdoria’s Omar Colley is attracting interest from England and his departure could see the Italians turn to Sarr for a replacement.
