Bhoys boss Neil Lennon wants to make additions to his squad before the current transfer window slams shut and a new left-back has been a priority for the Scottish champions.

Having failed to make any significant headway to land Tottenham Hotspur’s Ryan Sessegnon, the Scottish giants turned their eyes to AC Milan star Laxalt.

And according to Sky Italia, the Uruguayan international will travel to Glasgow today to complete a deadline day move.

The 27-year-old,who has spent most of his career in Italy, is expected to complete a season-long loan switch to Parkhead before tonight’s transfer deadline, ending Lennon’s chase to land a left-back this summer.

Laxalt was a regular for Serie A side Genoa and their league rivals AC Milan lured the defender away to the San Siro in 2018.

The Uruguayan made 35 appearances for Rossoneri in all competitions before being shipped off on loan to Torino where he registered 18 outings in a six-month spell in the 2019/20 season.

Lennon could still add one or two new signings in addition to Laxalt before the window closes at midnight with the Northern Irishman on the lookout for new recruits.
