Shaqiri is one of the fringe players Liverpool could sell on the final day of the transfer window, which only has hours left on the clock.

The Switzerland international was left out of the Reds’ squad to face Arsenal in the EFL Cup last week, with it becoming clear that he could be a potential departure.

Shaqiri could face the prospect of limited playing time if he does stay at Liverpool beyond the closure of the transfer window tonight.

According to Turkish daily Takvim, Super Lig side Fenerbahce are keen on signing the 28-year-old from the Merseyside-based club.

The Turkish top flight outfit are pushing to land the Shaqiri from Liverpool on the final day of the window and have even made an attempt.

However, it remains to be seen if Fenerbahce can succeed in acquiring the services of the former Bayern Munich man, with time running out.

It is also unclear if other clubs are looking to capture the winger from Liverpool.
