Following playing a starring role in Leeds being promoted last season, the young French goalkeeper has continued to remain the first choice in the Premier League as well for Marcelo Bielsa.
The 20-year-old has earned rave reviews for his performances in the top tier of English football and Meslier admits that he feels delighted that he is getting to play at the top level with Leeds, though noted the speed of the game.
However, Meslier insisted that he still does not consider himself to be a Premier League player as he feels that he requires more time to adapt to the level and will need at least one season to get used to playing in the top tier of English football.
“I am super happy to be evolving at this level”, Meslier was quoted as saying by French sports daily L’Equipe.
“But I still don’t consider myself a true Premier League player because it takes time to adapt.
“You have to play at least one full season to get used to it.
“I am still discovering, trying to learn as quickly as possible against world-class players.
“Everything is happening much faster.”
Meslier is currently with the France Under-21s set up where he is fighting for a place in the team with Alban Lafont.
