The 33-year-old goalkeeper wanted to join Everton on deadline day and the Toffees even made a £2m loan offer with the coverage of his entire salary.

But Manchester United rejected the offer and only want to sell the goalkeeper for a fee of around £8m despite him not being part of their plans.

Romero was desperate to move and believes that as he joined the club on a free transfer and has given good service, he should be allowed to go.

Manchester United did not communicate to him about Dean Henderson’s return nor about their decision to keep him out of their Champions League squad.

Romero could still be on the move and a switch to the United States is still possible as the window will remain open in the MLS until 29th October.

And it has been claimed that several MLS outfits are considering signing the Argentine goalkeeper from Manchester United in the coming weeks.

The goalkeeper is training away from the rest of the Manchester United squad and is keen to move on as soon as possible.

And it remains to be seen whether he can convince Manchester United to let him go if an MLS club make a concrete offer for him soon.
