The 20-year-old, who was converted from a full-back to midfielder following Marcelo Bielsa’s arrival at the club, is viewed in high regard at Elland Road.

Leeds are prepared to sanction a loan move for Gotts before the domestic transfer window slams shut on Friday in an attempt to help him gain first team experience.

The Harrogate-born youngster has attracted interest from League One trio Swindon Town, Hull City and Sunderland, as well as Championship outfit Huddersfield Town.

And now more League One clubs in the shape of Charlton and Lincoln have also joined the race to sign Gotts from the Premier League club on loan before Friday’s deadline.

Meanwhile, Swindon , who were one of the first clubs to register an interest in the midfielder, are dragging their feet in the chase for Gotts.

With time running out in the window, it is unclear if the Robins can land the player on loan or will lose the race to one of his other suitors.

Swindon already have one Leeds youngster on the books on loan, with Jordan Stevens at the club.
