The Whites failed in their efforts to sign a midfielder before the international transfer window closed last week after a deal for Bayern Munich’s Michael Cuisance collapsed.

However, the Yorkshire-based club can still move to sign players from the Championship, with the domestic transfer window open until Friday.

Leeds are interested in Norwich midfielder Cantwell, who is a player that is on their radar.

The Canaries, who were recently relegated to the Championship, want £25m for the youngster and it is claimed the asking price is putting off Leeds.

As the deadline approaches, it remains to be seen if Norwich may lower their asking price for Cantwell.

The midfielder is keen to return to the Premier League, but may have to wait to get his wish if Norwich do not lower their demands.

Leeds have also been linked with holding an interest in Derby County’s Louie Sibley.
