Arsenal have been looking to move Mustafi on from the club over the last two years, but the German has continued to remain at the Emirates.
He has enjoyed a new lease of life under Mikel Arteta and has talked about the possibility of signing a contract extension to his current deal that expires at the end of the season.
It has been claimed that Arsenal have even held initial talks over a new deal with the German’s representatives.
But according to Sky Deutschland, Mustafi extending his stay at Arsenal beyond the end of the season is still unlikely.
The two sides are far away from working out any agreement and he is not expected to sign a new contract with the Gunners.
He has been linked with a move to Eintracht Frankfurt next year but for the moment that is also unlikely to happen.
Mustafi’s agents are looking for a new club but he is set to stay at Arsenal at least for the remainder of his contract.
He has suitors in Italy, Spain and Germany and is most likely to play for another club next season.
