Mourinho is just days away from completing one year as Tottenham manager and he has taken the club forward over the last 12 months.

He helped Spurs qualify for the Europa League last term and started the new season well, with the north London club sitting second in the Premier League standings after eight games.

There are genuine suggestions that Spurs can challenge for the title this season and Mourinho has looked rejuvenated at the club.

The Tottenham boss reflected on his decision to join the club and stressed that the quality from the first team to the academy and the facilities that exist at Spurs made the decision to take charge of them an easy one to make.

Mourinho also feels the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the world’s best ground.

Mourinhok, asked why he took the Tottenham job, told Italian daily Il Sole 24 Ore: “The quality of the Tottenham players, both from the first team down to the academy.

“Being part of a team with such a great heritage and such passionate fans is crucial. Also, the facilities are amazing, the stadium is the best in the world.

“I am giving everything. I have always given everything to each of my clubs.

“Now I am at Tottenham and I want to give my best with this team.”

Tottenham’s goal this season is to get back into the Champions League but for the moment they seem to be in the title race as well.
