Kenny impressed during his loan spell at Schalke last season and the German club were keen to extend the deal for one more year.

However, Everton were only interested in parting ways with the player last summer on a permanent deal and no such offer landed on their table.

Kenny has been part of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad this season, but his only Premier League appearance came in a 2-1 defeat against Newcastle United at the start of November.

And it has been claimed that he wants to play more football or is keen to move on from Everton in order to rejuvenate his career.

The full-back is frustrated by his lack of game time and has not been part of the matchday squad as well in the last two league games.

However, Everton do not want to loan him out still and are only interested in selling him for a good fee.

The Toffees do not want to undervalue their academy products and are keen to sell them on for a top price in order to balance the books.

Everton have a decision to make on Kenny during the January transfer window or next summer, or they could allow him to enter the final year of his contract, which expires in 2022.
