Rangers won a tough Europa League group to reach the last 32 and have been drawn to face Royal Antwerp over two legs in February.
The Glasgow giants are the favourites to beat the Belgian side and make it to the round of 16 of the competition, but Royal Antwerp coach Ivan Leko has welcomed the tie.
McManus feels that Rangers will see off the Belgians over two legs and believes that with the luck of the draw they can reach the quarter-final.
The former striker insisted that while there are teams Rangers would definitely want to avoid, he also believes that there are a number of sides who Steven Gerrard’s side would fancy themselves to beat as well.
McManus said on PLZ Soccer: “I always felt that if Rangers could get a fortunate draw, they can get into the last eight of the tournament.
“There is no doubt about it.
“There are a lot of teams in there that I fancy Rangers to beat.
“There are ones they want to avoid, don’t get me wrong, but they have managed to avoid them in this round.
“I think they will go through that tie without any problem at all and try and get lucky in the next round as well.”
Rangers made it to the last 16 of the Europa League last season but were outplayed by German giants Bayer Leverkusen over two legs.
