The Benfica loanee has stepped up whenever Jose Mourinho has handed him minutes in place of Harry Kane, with the Brazilian registering three goals and three assists in his six outings in all competitions.
Vinicius is tasting English football for the first time in his career and has been a regular in Tottenham’s Europa League squad, while mostly remaining on the bench in the Premier League, apart from a solo appearance as a substitute in his team’s 1-0 win against West Bromwich Albion last month.
The 25-year-old is enjoying life in England and revealed he feels at home, with his team-mates and coaching staff all coming together and helping him acclimatise to a new environment, effectively helping him to perform better on the pitch.
Vinicius insists he is motivated to give more for Tottenham and believes his team are led by a fantastic coach in Mourinho.
“I am very happy with my start at Tottenham, helping the team, but I am very motivated to do even more”, Vinicius told Globo Esporte.
“The entire squad and the coaching staff received me very well, I feel at home.
“It is important to go to a new club, with a new challenge, and be able to score goals.
“That gives me even more confidence.
“But everything is the result of collective work.
“We have a squad with high quality players and a fantastic coach.
“We have everything to make this a great season.”
Vinicius was not part of the matchday squad that played out a draw away at Crystal Palace on Sunday, but could make return to the first team when Spurs travel to Anfield for a top of the table clash against Liverpool on Wednesday night.
