The Villans have made a solid start to the Premier League season and are sitting in ninth in the league table at the moment.
Ollie Watkins has quickly taken to life in the Premier League with the Villans and has been a key figure up front for the club.
But boss Dean Smith lacks options beyond Watkins and is believed to be interested in bringing in one more striker in the winter transfer window.
Aston Villa looked at Edouard before signing Watkins in the summer and they still hold an interest in the Celtic hitman.
But it has been claimed that a move for the Frenchman is unlikely as the Villans are not prepared to splash out the level of money which would likely be needed for Edouard.
Celtic are also not likely to let their top striker leave in the middle of the season unless they receive an astronomical bid in the winter window.
Signing a striker is still on Aston Villa’s agenda and they are considering a move for Bournemouth’s Josh King as a potential forward recruit next month.
