League Two club Cambridge have announced the signing of 20-year-old right-back Okedina on loan from Tottenham until the end of the season.
Okedina joins the English fourth-tier club to get his first taste of senior football and U’s head coach Bonner is certain that it will be a good experience for the youngster.
The 35-year-old is looking forward to aiding the youngster in his development as a player, and knows he is determined to fight for a place in his team.
Pleased with the signing of the Spurs starlet, Bonner also explained that Okedina will provide adequate cover for his defensive unit and is certain that he is a good addition to the team.
“We are pleased to add Jubril to our squad for the second half of the season and look forward to overseeing this period of his development“, Bonner told Cambridge’s official site.
“This will be a good experience for Jubril as it’s his first senior loan and he offers us good competition and cover in the defensive unit.
“Jubril is motivated to push for a place in the team and his attitude, defensive qualities and athleticism make him a good addition.”
Okedina signed a new contract with Tottenham until 2022 before sealing the loan move to the League Two side.
