The 26-year-old midfielder has 18 months left on his contract and has been linked with a move away from the club next summer.

Tottenham have been keeping a close eye on the midfielder and are interested in taking him to England when the transfer window rolls out at the end of the ongoing campaign.

RB Leipzig have been batting away rumours over the midfielder’s future and have been insistent that talks over a new contract will take place at the appropriate time.

And it seems that the discussions could soon begin as Krosche insisted that in the next few weeks the initial talks will begin and RB Leipzig are keen to know what Sabitzer thinks about his future.

The RB Leipzig sporting director told Sky Deutschland: “We will exchange ideas in the next few weeks.

“We will see how he sees the future and his development here with us.

“Then you will see how things develop.”

RB Leipzig are keen to avoid the midfielder entering the final year of his contract in the summer as it could force them to sell him.
