English fourth tier outfit Salford have announced the signing of 21-year-old Gotts from Premier League side Leeds on loan until the end of the season.

The Whites starlet spent the first half of the season on loan at League One club Lincoln City and will now continue his development with the Ammies.

Expressing his delight at joining Salford, Gotts explained that it was his priority to join the club after he found out they wanted him.

The 21-year-old, who can operate both as a central midfielder or a right-back, also revealed that he had previously spoken to Ammies boss Richie Wellens and is looking forward to the challenge.

I’m really looking forward to it, as soon as the club was interested really I think that was my main priority to come here“, Gotts told Salford’s site.

The manager spoke to me, there’s been previous conversation before and I’m just really happy to be here.

Salford boss Wellens also expressed his delight with the acquisition of Gotts on loan from Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds, where the youngster is highly rated.

He’s a young up and coming midfielder at Leeds United, he’s been involved in a couple of Championship games and a cup game away at Arsenal“, Wellens said.

He’s got loads and loads of energy and I think he will complement the other midfielders very well, he comes fresh from a loan spell at Lincoln who are flying, and comes with a good recommendation.

Gotts made 12 appearances for Lincoln during the first half of the season and will be looking to add more to the tally at Salford until the end of the campaign.
