Amavi is out of contract at Marseille at the end of the season and negotiations over a new deal have reached a standstill, pushing him towards the exit door at the Stade Velodrome.

The defender has been linked with a move away from Marseille before next week’s transfer deadline and he has interest from Arsenal and Crystal Palace.

However, both London clubs could be set for disappointment as Amavi is tipped to move to Leeds to play under Marcelo Bielsa.

According to French broadcaster Canal+, the 26-year-old full-back is closing in on a transfer to Leeds this month.

Leeds have been insistent that they are not planning to make signings, but Marseille want to earn a fee from Amavi’s departure and the Whites are claimed to be prepared to snap him up now.

Amavi has impressed with his performances at Marseille since joining the club from Aston Villa.

With Amavi’s contract running down, it remains to be seen how much Leeds may fork out to sign him.

The defender is now claimed to be set to make the move to the Elland Road outfit in the coming days.
