Lingard is set to leave Manchester United on loan until the end of the season and the Red Devils are finalising the agreement with West Ham.
A deal is in place between the two clubs that will see the Hammers pay a loan fee of £1.5m to Manchester United and they will also bear the entirety of the midfielder’s wages.
West Ham are trying to rush through the formalities of the deal in order to have the 28-year-old in their squad to face Liverpool on Sunday.
It has been claimed that the midfielder is in London today and will soon be undergoing a medical with the Hammers.
Once the medical checks are done, West Ham will look to put the final touches on the deal and secure Lingard’s signature on a contract.
The midfielder will have to be registered before 12 noon in order to include him in the West Ham squad for Sunday.
David Moyes is hopeful that Lingard will add much-needed quality to a squad who are fighting to for a place in Europe next season.
West Ham are still believed to be interested in bringing in a striker before Monday’s deadline.
