Andre Villas-Boas’ side have agreed a loan deal with Celtic for Ntcham and will have an option to sign him on a permanent basis for €6m if he impresses.

Ntcham has been due to travel to Marseille to undergo his medical and put pen to paper to his loan contract.

However, according to French TV programme Telefoot, Ntcham has been unable to leave Glasgow and can only reach Marseille on Tuesday.

The issue will not stop Ntcham from signing for the French side however and he is expected to do so remotely.

Ntcham has been keen to move on from Celtic and will be looking to do enough at Marseille to seal a permanent move to the club.

The midfielder has turned out 147 times for Celtic during the course of his stint at the club.

He has struggled to impress this season as the Bhoys have blown the chance to win their tenth league title in a row.
