Though the Reds are on the verge of signing Ben Davies from Preston North End, they are keen to land another defender before the transfer window slams shut today.
Having failed with their attempt to sign Duje Caleta-Car from Marseille, Liverpool are said to have turned their attention towards Schalke centre-back Ozan Kabak.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are trying to work out a last-minute deal with Schalke, but the Bundesliga club would have to sign a replacement before sanctioning a transfer for the 20-year-old.
With no certainty over Kabak’s arrival, Liverpool are keeping tabs on other options, with Torino’s Bremer being one among them, according to Turin-based outlet Corriere Granata.
It is said that the Merseyside-based club have been in touch with the Brazilian’s agent but they are yet to make an offer to Torino.
It is possible that Liverpool could turn to Bremer should a deal for Schalke’s Kabak fail to materialise.
Nevertheless, the Reds are facing a race against time as they look to sign two defenders before the transfer window slams shut.
