Steve Bruce is engaged in a desperate hunt to add to his squad before the transfer window slams shut tonight.
Bruce wants to land a midfielder and a number of options are under consideration at St. James’ Park.
And Newcastle look poised to be able to do a deal for Arsenal star Willock as talks between the two clubs are taking place.
It is claimed that the signs point to a deal being able to take place for Willock to head to the north east on loan until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old has struggled for game time at Arsenal so far this term and will be hopeful of clocking regular minutes if his move to Newcastle goes through before the window closes.
Willock has made 17 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal this term and has scored three goals and provided three assists in the Europa League.
His contract at Arsenal runs until the summer of 2023.
