The Austria international has a contract with Bayern Munich running out in the summer and looks increasingly likely to leave the club on a free transfer.

Alaba’s contract situation at the Allianz Arena has put a host of clubs on alert, including La Liga giants Real Madrid, as well as Premier League sides Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Despite the significant interest from England, there have been suggestions that the 28-year-old is keen to join Los Blancos when his Bayern Munich contract comes to an end.

However, according to German magazine Sport Bild, Alaba is considering ditching his desire to join Real Madrid in favour of a better offer from England.

It is also said that the talks between the Austrian’s agent Pini Zahavi and the Spanish outfit are not as far advanced as has been claimed in Spain.

With Alaba open to offers from England, it remains to be seen if his suitors in the Premier League can make a proposal that will convince him to reject Real Madrid.

The Bayern Munich star can operate as a centre-back, left-back or as a midfielder, making him an attractive target for clubs.
