Roberts made only his third league start of the season in Leeds’ 1-0 defeat to Wolves at Molineux on Friday night.

The striker has been a bit-part player at Leeds this season and there was even talk of him possibly leaving the club on loan during the winter transfer window.

He has received more opportunities in recent games but Dorigo does not believe he did enough to properly grab the chances he got in the team.

The former White believes that Roberts needs to keep learning and be more patient in order to get more such opportunities in the near future.

He feels that the forward is talented enough to eventually get his chance but he will have to bide his time for now.

Dorigo said on LUTV: “Tyler is a young player who is always learning and he has clearly got plenty of talent.

“We saw him come on and do well in one or two cameos and then got his opportunities, but he hasn’t really grasped it just yet.

“What he needs to do is keep learning, be patient, keep improving and he will get other opportunities.

“He came on against Tottenham and looked very good, against Wolves, played well and offered something different.

“He still needs to keep improving and like every other good player, you always want to get better.

“And some just have to wait that little bit longer to get their chance.”

It remains to be seen whether Roberts gets another chance to start when Leeds take on Southampton at Elland Road tonight.
