Koch started life in England following his move from German club Freiburg last summer on a strong note with eleven Premier League starts to his name.

The centre-back became a fixture in Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa’s squad, but had to go under the knife after suffering a knee injury, and has been spending time on the sidelines since early December.

Koch, who is back on the grass, rehabilitating with his recovery coach, revealed he is aiming to be back in action for the Whites in mid-March.

“I hope that I will get fit again quickly and I can put forward my case with good performances”, Koch told German daily the Badische Zeitung.

“I am back on the grass with the recovery coach.

“I hope to be able to play again in the middle of March.”

Koch added that he is in touch with German national team manager Joachim Low and stressed it would be dream come true if he could make Die Mannschaft’s squad for Euro 2020 in the summer.

“We are in touch.

“A huge dream would come true [if I was at Euro 2020].”

Leeds have struggled with injuries in their backline, with Diego Llorente and Liam Copper also missing games, and Koch’s impending return to the first team fold will be a huge boost for the Yorkshire giants as they look to further climb the ranks in the Premier League.
