The 19-year-old midfielder is out of contract with Sheffield Wednesday in the summer and is set to leave the club at the end of the season.

Lennon pushed Celtic to sign him last month and the Scottish giants have agreed on a pre-contract with Shaw, with the player expected to join in the summer.

Celtic had a major development on Wednesday morning when Lennon decided to resign as their manager after another league defeat at the weekend.

And there are suggestions that Shaw’s move to Celtic could be under threat following the departure of the 59-year-old

Lennon confirmed recently that Celtic agreed on a pre-contract with Shaw, but neither club have officially confirmed it.

But it has been claimed Shaw will still join Celtic in the summer despite the 59-year-old leaving the club.

The deal is under no threat and the young midfielder will join the Celtic squad ahead of the new season.

A product of the Sheffield Wednesday academy, Shaw has made 18 senior appearances for the club and will be at Celtic next season.
