7th March was the last time the Leeds faithful saw their team in the flesh at Elland Road and the stands in Yorkshire have remained silent so far in the Whites first season back in Premier League owing to the changed football landscape.
However, more promising times are on the horizon with the Premier League not abandoning their plans to have spectators back in the stadium this season and the Whites are also looking forward to playing top flight football at a packed Elland Road.
Leeds hitman Bamford is of the view that the return of fans will feel strange initially as they have been playing in empty stadiums for the better part of a year now.
Nonetheless, the 27-year-old stressed playing in front of a home crowd again will not have any bad influence on Leeds in terms of additional pressure as they will be focused on the game from the first whistle.
Asked whether he is concerned about having fans back in the stadium in terms of having additional pressure, Bamford told the Official Leeds United podcast: “Not so much.
“I think the first game will probably be a little bit strange, adjusting back to it.
“But I think then, once you are in the game, you kind of drown out the noise.
“You do not hear [the crowd] as much until, like for instance if you do score then it all comes soon back in, but you kind of block it out when you are in the pressure situations.
“So, I do not think it is going to have a bad influence on us.”
A limited number of fans were allowed in stadiums for a brief period earlier this season but it remains to be seen when the football world will return to normality.
