Bamford is leading the scoring charts for Leeds in the Premier League this term with 13 strikes to his name from 27 appearances.

However, the Whites have failed to score in their last two top flight games, despite being proficient at creating opportunities, with Bamford’s last strike coming in a 3-0 league win against Southampton on 23rd February.

The longest spell Bamford has gone without scoring this season is four games and he has insisted he prefers to bounce back from a dry spell in front of goal by dealing with it in his own way.

The 27-year-old stressed that he does not want anyone to patronise him, but rather find his form on his own, not dwell on his troubles for too long and approach it in a positive manner.

Asked whether he prefers to have an arm around the shoulder if he is going through a dry spell, Bamford told the Official Leeds United podcast: “I think that when people start, you kind of almost feel like worse off if someone starts putting their arm around you and they are like patronising.

“You are like come on mate, like I know I am not doing certain things right.

“That is why I always find it better to, if you do something wrong or if It is not going your way, maybe be frustrated about it like immediately after.

“But then from afterwards kind of laugh about it, laugh it off.

“Then you don’t dwell on it as much that way as well.”

Bamford scored against Leeds’ upcoming top flight opponents Chelsea earlier this season in a 3-1 loss at Stamford Bridge,  and will be keen on adding one more to his tally at Elland Road when they host the Blues at the weekend.
