Chris Wilder is expected to end his time as Sheffield United manager on Friday.

The Blades, who have been sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table for several months, are expected to make an announcement on his departure this afternoon.

The speculation over who could replace Wilder at the helm has already started, with a number of names floated as potential options for Sheffield United.

And it has been claimed that Lennon is one of the candidates who could take charge of the Blades following Wilder’s departure.

The 49-year-old recently left Celtic after failing to win the club a tenth league title in a row and is on the lookout for a new job.

It seems he is ready to jump back into management soon and it has been claimed that he is looking at the Sheffield United job as a serious possibility.

He would likely have to agree to Sheffield United wanting to hire a director of football, one of the main bones of contention between Wilder and the club.

Lennon achieved massive success as Celtic manager, winning five league titles, four Scottish Cups and one Scottish League Cup
