Manchester United have to score at the San Siro tonight to have any chance of being in the quarter-finals and are now under pressure to justify their favourites tag.
Cabrini believes this evening is the biggest game of the season for AC Milan and feels they will become instant favourites to go all the way in the Europa League if they eliminate Manchester United.
The Italy legend told Sky Italia: “This is the match of the season for Milan.
“Tackling a team like United brings great satisfaction and eventually eliminating them would make Milan one of the favourites to win the Europa League.
“At this point, it could become the number one goal for the team.”
AC Milan are also stronger than last week following the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the squad.
Cabrini stressed that the Swede’s presence in the team makes a difference to the mentality of the Rossoneri side.
“The presence of Ibrahimovic is not only important for the football aspect but also for his character.”
