The Merseyside-based club are playing their first full season under the management of Carlo Ancelotti, who took charge of the club in December 2019.
With ten more games to go in the league campaign, Everton currently sit seventh in the table with 46 points and are pushing to secure a Champions League spot.
Goodison Park great Carsley has been impressed with what he has seen from his former club so far, but is of the view that their season would have been much better with the support of fans.
Carsley is confident that Ancelotti’s Everton side will strike up a good connection with the fans when they return to stadiums and that will take them to another level.
“There’s been some cracking games and some really good performances that I’ve seen on tv this season“, Carsley told the Liverpool Echo.
“We’ve had a great season, but it’s not been half as good as it would have been if there were fans in there – and you can say that for all the grounds.
“But the Everton fans are massive to the team, they’re really important in the good times and bad.
“I think there’ll be a real connection with this team and the fans, and I think that will make them even better.
“We’ve got some top players and I think when they play in front of the Goodison crowd they’ll go to another level as well.
“Maybe the not-so-good performances against teams we should beat, they won’t happen if fans are there – they don’t let that happen.“
While there is no confirmation regarding the return of fans to stadiums, Premier League clubs hope to welcome supporters back for at least one home game each before the end of the season.
