Rangers are coming into the second leg of their Europa League last 16 tie with a genuine chance of progressing to the quarter-finals of the competition for the first time since 2008.

A 1-1 draw away at Slavia Prague has put Rangers in a good position and Adam believes a quarter-final appearance would be a great achievement for the Scottish giants.

But he insisted that they will need to start better than they did in Prague last week when they conceded a goal in the seventh minute.

He feels if Rangers can show the intensity they have displayed at home in Europe this season, they have the tools to take care of business against the Czech giants and make it to the last eight of the Europa League tonight.

Adam said on PLZ Soccer: “It will be massive if they can get into the last eight, but they have to start the game better than they did away in Prague.

“If they can start the same with the same intensity as they have in the other European games at home, like Antwerp in the previous round, I think Rangers can take care of them.

“This team are good, they have got some good players, technically they can hurt you, I thought for 60 minutes the energy and intensity they played at – in the last half hour they slipped up a little bit.

“But if Rangers are at it and do what they have done before, I think Rangers that can win this and get into the last eight.

“And that will be an unbelievable achievement.”

Rangers are yet to taste defeat in Europe this season and have lost just once in all competitions.
