Thomas Tuchel’s side sealed their place in the final eight of the Champions League with a 3-0 aggregate win over Spanish giants Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
Reflecting on the game, Atletico Madrid star Trippier has admitted that Chelsea were the better side on the night and deserved to go through to the quarter-finals of the competition.
The England international is also of the view that the Stamford Bridge outfit have what it takes to go all the way in the Champions League this season.
Heaping praise on the Blues, Trippier pointed out that the Premier League side have a good squad and have been stable defensively since the arrival of Tuchel.
“They can go all the way“, Trippier told beIN SPORTS.
“They are a fantastic team, their manager has done a great job since he came in.
“They have conceded not too many goals, kept a lot of clean sheets.
“They have got a fantastic team, like I said, you look at the full squad.
“Good luck to them, the best team won on the night.“
Chelsea are unbeaten in the 13 games they have played under Tuchel since his arrival in January.
