Steven Gerrard’s side put an end to Celtic’s nine-year hold over the Scottish Premiership title by sealing their place at the top of the league table earlier this month.

Rangers are currently on 89 points, having won 28 and drawn five of their 33 league games so far, and are well-placed to finish the campaign unbeaten.

Helander, who has played 21 league games for the Gers this season, joined up with the Sweden national team ahead of their World Cup qualifiers, where he also met Celtic Park great Lustig.

Lifting the lid on how Lustig feels about Rangers’ title triumph, the central defender has revealed that the 34-year-old is not happy about it and has been on the receiving end of some stick.

He’s not so happy but I’m happy“, Helander told Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen.

He has received little jibes.

However, Helander also revealed that Lustig congratulated him on his achievement with Rangers despite Celtic’s rivalry with the club.

But he has actually congratulated me“, the centre-back said.

Helander and Lustig will now be looking to put their club rivalries aside and help Sweden to victories in their games against Georgia, Kosovo and Estonia.
