Bamford, who has contributed to 21 goals for Leeds this season, made his 100th appearance for the club in their Premier League game against Chelsea this month.

The 27-year-old has been a key player for the Whites in the top flight this season, as well as the campaign leading up to the promotion, and Elland Road great Beckford has been impressed with how he has led the line for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Beckford asserted that Bamford has been a breath of fresh air in the Premier League this season and hailed his contributions to the team as incredible.

The former Leeds star picked Bamford’s goal in their season opener against Liverpool as his favourite moment as he feels that was the instance when he proved those who doubted his ability to play in the Premier League wrong.

Asked to name his favourite Bamford moment, Beckford said on the Official Leeds United podcast: “There’s so many to say.

One of my favourite things seeing is Pat scoring in training and then running up to Bielsa in training, it is super cute.

But, there are loads of moments.

I think for me, it has got to be the first goal back in the Premier League.

That is the moment where, for me, everybody that doubted Pat and said he couldn’t score in the Premier League or he wouldn’t be good enough or whatever that was the moment where he stood up and said ‘There you go, have some of that, how does that humble pie taste?’

That was the first of many many steps that he has taken.

He just has been incredible, a breath of fresh air in the Premier League and for Leeds and leading the line really really well.

Having made an impressive return to the top flight with Leeds, Bamford will be looking to build on it and establish himself as a top striker in the league.
