The 34-year-old’s current deal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is set to end in the summer of 2022 and Spurs have been linked with a move for Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan as a potential long-term replacement for him.
Lloris has been linked with the exit door and his former team Nice have emerged as a potential destination, while a switch to Premier League rivals Manchester United has also been floated should he leave Spurs in the summer.
However, the possibility of Lloris staying beyond his current deal in north London lies is in his own hands as Tottenham are open to offering him a new deal.
The capital club are not against idea of holding on to Lloris beyond his current stint on fresh terms, but it is down to him to decide if he wants to stay.
The chances of Lloris parting ways with Tottenham in the summer remain slim at present unless he demands to leave the club or they receive a significant offer for his signature.
But both scenarios are deemed highly unlikely to happen owing to the Tottenham skipper’s relationship with the club and his current contractual situation.
It remains to be seen whether Lloris will put pen-to-paper on a new contract at Tottenham where he has guarded the goal since the summer of 2012, having arrived in England from French giants Lyon.
