Glasgow giants Celtic have confirmed that Brown will leave the club and put an end to his 14-year association with the side at the end of the current season.
The Scotland international is set to open a new chapter in his career by joining the Hoops’ Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen as a player-coach on a two-year deal.
Delighted with the signing, Aberdeen legend Miller has explained that the midfielder will add freshness to the Dons squad and is hopeful that he can make a positive impact at the club.
Miller also explained that Brown will bring the mentality, character and leadership quality that modern footballers lack and many managers regret not having in their team to Aberdeen next season.
“Brown will bring a freshness and, after a pre-season under his belt with Aberdeen, will hopefully start the new campaign with a bang“, Miller wrote in his Evening Express column.
“During his 14 seasons at Parkhead, Brown amassed more than 20 trophies and he will bring a certain mentality to Aberdeen that is no longer prevalent in Scottish football.
“I hear coaches and managers bemoan the fact they don’t see players with that character, communication skills and leadership that Brown has.
“There are good players around, but those attributes are lacking in many modern players, according to the coaches I speak with.
“Brown has all those attributes.“
Having helped Celtic to significant success in Scotland, Brown will be hopeful of helping Aberdeen in achieving their targets over the course of the next two seasons.
