Van Dijk has been out of action since October when he picked up a serious knee injury and he was ruled out for the rest of the season.

The Dutchman is fighting hard to be fit in time to make the Netherlands squad for the European Championship.

Henderson is also out with a groin injury and there are serious concerns that midfielder might not make the England squad for the tournament.

But Klopp insisted that he cannot play any role in deciding whether either of the two players will play in the European Championship.

He stressed that he is not trying to stop either Henderson or Van Dijk from playing for their countries and is clear that their fitness is not in his hands if they are not ready for the tournament.

Klopp said in a press conference: “I have no idea about the Euros to be honest.

“Nothing has changed, they are all in the place they should be at the moment and that is it.

“I don’t want to take a Holland or England player away, if they are ready, they are ready but if they are not, I cannot change that.

“They are at the moment in the rehab process so it is not about me to make this decision.

“I deliver the news when I have them and I don’t have any at the moment and so that is the situation.”

Liverpool will miss two of their best players as they look to sneak back into the top four and try to go all the way in the Champions League this season.
