West Ham scored three first-half goals and looked set for a comfortable win but two goals from Wolves, either side of half time, meant the game ended in a tight finish.

The Hammers threw away a three-goal lead against Arsenal just before the international break and it seemed they were on their way to doing the same at Molineux on Monday night.

But David Moyes’ side managed to hold on to a 3-2 win and moved up to fourth in the Premier League table.

Osman admits that it is a great result and after their Arsenal experience, it was a massive thing for West Ham to manage to see out the game against Wolves and win the three points.

The former midfielder said after the match on Premier League TV: “It is a terrific result.

“The fact that in their last game they lost a three-goal lead to Arsenal and then to find themselves in the same situation with Wolves pushing and pushing.

“So to get over the line is a huge statement and a huge three points.

“And what a position to be in going into the last stages of the season.”

West Ham will be in action again next Sunday when they will host third-placed Leicester City at the London Stadium.
