The Whites sit just outside the top half of the league table in eleventh place in their first season back in the Premier League after a 16-year absence.
The 2020/21 season also marks the first time Bielsa has managed in the Premier League after the Argentinian guided Leeds to promotion back into England’s top flight last season.
Huggins revealed that the former Chile coach’s preferred style of high intensity football seeps through the edifice of the club as it is reflected in the training methods and during matchdays from the senior squads to the youth set-ups at Elland Road.
The young full-back went on to state that Bielsa has helped him develop as a player and his methods have had an impact on all the academy prospects vying to make the senior squad at Leeds.
“It all comes down from him through his staff. It’s all the same sort of principles – everything has to be high intensity”, Huggins was quoted as saying by the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“A lot of it is down to how intense it all is. The training, the games, the amount you’re running and your high speed – things like that.
“How you pass the ball.
“The way we work in training all improves that with the drills we do.
“The manager has helped me improve loads at Leeds and the style of football we’re playing obviously helps the first team a lot and down to 23s level and throughout the academy, it’s had an impact on us all and obviously I’ve improved a lot from it.”
Leeds will look to finish as high as they can in the league table with eight games left to play for the Whites in the Premier League this season.
