With Arsenal languishing in tenth in the league table and their hopes of being back in the Champions League are hinging on them winning the Europa League this season.

They will host Slavia Prague in the first leg of their quarter-final tie at the Emirates tonight and Martin feels they might be the strongest team left in the competition after Manchester United.

However, he pointed that Mikel Arteta’s side were awful against Liverpool last weekend in their 3-0 defeat and that performance does not bode well for what they could face against Slavia Prague.

He thinks that given their form the Gunners might struggle to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League.

“They are probably the strongest opponents”, Martin said on MUTV.

“But looking at them against Liverpool last week, they were awful and I thought nobody has got anything to worry about.

“On that sort of performance, I wouldn’t expect them to go through against Slavia Prague.”

Arsenal and Manchester United are on course to potentially face each other in the final of the Europa League in an all-English affair.
