Leeds and Manchester City played out an exhilarating 1-1 draw at Elland Road when they crossed paths with each other earlier in the top flight this season.

The Citizens have since climbed to the top of the standings and are on course to lift the title, stringing together a dominant league run, and are now set to welcome the Whites to the Etihad Stadium at the weekend.

Leeds hitman Bamford is of the view that Bielsa will accept Manchester City are a better side than the Yorkshire giants on paper, but stressed that does not affect the Argentine’s belief that his team can win against any opposition.

The striker added that Bielsa will provide the Whites with a blueprint on how to make Manchester City play worse than their normal standards, overcoming their threat and possibly dominating them.

Asked whether Bielsa looks at top teams in the likes of Manchester City and highlights their vulnerabilities ahead of a game, Bamford said on the official Leeds United Podcast: “I think so.

“I think that he knows Manchester City are a better team than us, I think everyone knows that.

“But I think he also knows that if we do things a certain way, we can actually make them play worse which helps us in a way, help us kind of overcome and dominate them.

“It is hard to explain without actually being in the meeting there and seeing exactly what he is saying because it is just difficult to put it back into words.

“But I think he fully believes we can win and every aim is to win.”

Two of Manchester City’s three losses in the current campaign have come at home and Bielsa’s men will be hoping to spring an upset come Saturday.
