Vincent Kompany’s side are keen to retain the services of the Manchester City star beyond his loan contract, which expires at the end of the season.

However, Anderlecht’s hopes of extending Nmecha’s stay depend on Manchester City’s plans for the centre-forward, as well as their qualification for Europe.

Having impressed while on loan at Anderlecht, Nmecha, who has a contract with the Citizens until the summer of 2022, has attracted transfer interest from clubs in Spain and Germany.

While Pep Guardiola’s side could be tempted to cash in on the striker, they are leaning towards handing a contract extension to the 22-year-old, according to Belgian daily Het Nieuwsbald.

Manchester City handing the Germany Under-21 international a new deal would be a huge boost to the Purple and Whites’ hopes of extending his loan contract.

Though he has attracted interest from clubs in Spain and Germany, Nmecha wants to stay at Anderlecht if they secure European football.

Nmecha has scored 17 goals and provided two assists from 34 appearances across all competitions for Anderlecht so far this season.
