The 18-year-old winger scored his sixth goal of the season in Blackburn’s 2-1 victory over Wayne Rooney’s Derby in the Championship on Friday.

On loan at Ewood Park from Liverpool, Elliott has now scored six goals and provided eleven assists from 37 league appearances for the Lancashire outfit so far.

Heaping praise on the teenager, Blackburn boss Mowbray has explained that he does not have to praise the winger as his numbers and quality speak for themselves.

Mowbray, who pointed out how Elliott makes things happen when he is on the ball and grabs assists frequently, went on to stress that the youngster needs to keep scoring goals to keep his confidence high as he looks to achieve his full potential.

Harvey is a wonderful talent“, Mowbray was quoted as saying by the Lancashire Telegraph.

I don’t want to keep eulogising about him, because the statistics and his quality on the ball stand out for all to see.

If anything, we can’t get the ball to him enough, but when we do, in and around the box, he can produce quality like he showed [against Derby].

I did tell him before the game that he has to keep his goal tally ticking along, although he seemingly gets an assist every game, but we’re delighted for him because he needs to keep it ticking along for his own confidence and belief, not that he’s short on that, because he’s a wonderful talent.

I’m delighted for him and you could see his own delight in his celebration.

Having contributed to 17 goals for Blackburn already, Elliott will be looking to enjoy a strong end to his campaign with the Rovers before returning to Liverpool.
