With 14 goals and five assists to his name in the Bundesliga this season, Kalajdzic has attracted interest from several clubs, including Tottenham, West Ham and RB Leipzig.

The summer transfer window is fast approaching and the 23-year-old could be in line to be the subject of offers, but Stuttgart intend to fend off approaches for him by extending his contract.

Explaining Stuttgart’s plans to extend Kalajdzic’s deal, which has two more years remaining on it, the German club’s sporting director Mislintat has revealed that the striker is relaxed about the situation.

Mislintat insisted that the Austria international is aware of how Stuttgart stood by him when he suffered a long-term injury last season and believes the player is keen to repay the club.

Sasa is completely relaxed“, Mislintat was quoted as saying by German daily Bild.

He also knows how we stood by him when he was injured.

We didn’t sign anyone for his position, we always believed in him.

He’s giving that back to us with heart and soul.

Mislintat revealed that Stuttgart could increase Kalajdzic’s wages if he continues to perform well for the club.

It’s not like we’re currently throwing peanuts at Sasa“, Mislintat said.

If he plays a lot and well, he can grow financially and there is room for improvement within his current contract.

Stuttgart are determined to keep Kalajdzic at the club beyond the summer, but it remains to be seen if his suitors can convince the German club to do business with them.
