Steven Gerrard’s side will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Scottish Premiership to 35 games when they visit St. Johnstone this evening.

Rangers will lock horns with Callum Davidson’s side again in the Scottish Cup on Sunday, with a place in the semi-finals of the competition up for grabs.

With a double header against the Saints coming up, Rangers assistant manager McAllister has warned that the Gers should not underestimate the Perth-based outfit, who have won the Scottish League Cup and sealed a top six finish this term.

The Scot explained that St. Johnstone have developed a rewarding system under Davidson and is aware that they will want to turn the Scottish champions over this week.

They’ve been very impressive“, McAllister told Rangers TV.

I like Callum as a guy and I think he has produced a team that are very much together.

I think they are very tough to play against, their organisation.

But also, when they move up the pitch, they commit a few players forward, so it is not just a case of a big low block and trying to defend the goal.

They are a team that have got a system, they trust it, they have sort of stuck with it the entire season, which is brave.

They’ve been rewarded by winning a cup, they’ve got in the top six as well, so they have had a great season and I’m sure they will want to turn us over.

But, we go there strong with the intent of keeping our run going.

Rangers are keen to finish their league campaign unbeaten and win the Scottish Cup, and it remains to be seen if St. Johnstone can put an end to their hopes.
