The 17-year-old midfielder is a highly-rated youngster in the Aston Villa academy and top European sides are interested in him.

He was being courted by clubs in Germany, Italy and France before he signed his first professional contract with Aston Villa in October last year.

A move was ruled out then with expectations that he was likely to get first-team minutes, but he is yet to make his senior debut for Villa.

And it is now being claimed that Monaco are interested in snaring the youngster away from Villa Park in the near future.

The Ligue 1 giants have been keeping close tabs on him and are considering making an offer for him.

Chukwuemeka is also being followed by top clubs in the Premier League, with Manchester United and Manchester City also keeping an eye on him.

The midfielder is keen to get first-team minutes soon and the development of other English youngsters at European clubs has been noted by his camp.

It remains to be seen whether Aston Villa manage to convince the youngster to ignore interest from top clubs to stay in the Midlands for the time being.
