Having finished the regular Jupiler Pro League campaign in third, Anderlecht are currently battling it out in the Championship rounds for a Champions League spot.

Nmecha, who is on a season-long loan at Anderlecht from Premier League heavyweights Manchester City, has spearheaded the Paars-wit attack with 15 strikes from 32 outings.

Anderlecht are keen on holding on to Nmecha beyond the current campaign and he has revealed earning Champions League qualification could convince him to stay at the club for an extended stint.

The hitman added that the prospect of continuing at Anderlecht could also be influenced by whether team-mates Albert Samb Lokonga and Anouar Ait El Hadj remain at the club beyond the rapidly approaching summer transfer window.

Asked what could convince him to stay at Anderlecht, Nmecha told Belgian broadcaster Sporza: “The Champions League.

“If we grab a Champions League ticket, it becomes a little more likely that I will stay.

“And I also look at what other players are doing.

“Lokonga and El Hadj also have options, but if they stay, it could have an impact on my decision.”

Nmecha’s contract at Manchester City runs until the summer of 2022 and it remains to be seen whether he will be given a chance there next season or will have to find game time elsewhere.
